PC Ports of Sony Games May Come With a Catch
It is possible that in the future, PC gamers will have to create PSN s in order to play games from Sony. At least that's what the FAQ on the company's website seems to indicate.
Video Games Chronicle drew attention to an interesting point in the FAQ section on the official website of PlayStation. It may indicate that in the future PC gamers will have to create a PlayStation Network when wanting to play ports of games from Sony.
A point of contention
The possible need for a PlayStation Network may be evidenced by one of the questions in the FAQ.
"Question: Do I need a PSN to enjoy PlayStation Studios games on PC?
Answer: No, you currently do not need a PSN to enjoy PlayStation Studios games on PC."
When analyzing the above, focus on the word currently. Such a provision leaves Sony considerable room for maneuver.
Other concerns
It also connects quite well with other questions that can be found on the website. Currently also you can't buy a single copy of the game to play on PC and console, and (also currently) there is no way to transfer save game data. However, there is no clear statement that such features will not be introduced someday, and readers are left with only the word "currently."
Looking at Sony's increasingly bold PC expansion, we can guess that their vagueness on these issues could mean bigger plans for the PC market.
