While thousands of people are driving their vehicles right now in the quest with the generator will be the greatest obstacle for players, it seems that it is something completely different – crashes. Players are reporting quite a lot of them. They can’t run the game. Let’s look at the issue.
Crashes in RoadCraft are serious
The Steam forum is full of various reports about RoaCcraft crashes. However, it is not matched with solutions. Players seem to not have discovered a universal fix for the issue. Let’s look at what is known about the problem.
- While on the Steam page we can read that RoadCraft on Steam Deck is “playable”, it seems that Proton s are not safe from crashes. There are numerous reports about Wine error.
- Many players keep getting crashes after initial screens with logos. It seems that this may be caused by shaders compilation.
What to and try when it comes to Roadcraft crashes:

- Try to disable all unnecessary apps working in the background as well as overlays (Discord and Steam included).
- Run the game from the “exe” file in the local directory.

- Make sure that you have all drivers up to date.
- Run Steam as an .
- It is unknown at this point if it is also caused by a known Intel problem with processors of 13th and 14th generation. However, it can’t be ruled out. So, you may have to update your BIOS.
While I have not experienced any crashes during my gameplay, I can’t say that my adventure in RoadCraft is smooth. While I can play the game, soon after launching it and watching starting screens and logos, my headphones go silent. I am not the only one, as my colleague also experiences this issue. He fixed it with a simple trick, but I had less luck and can’t solve my problems as of now.
