Four years ago, Iron Gate released one of the most successful survival games – RuneScape, to be precise). So, players gather resources, craft many items and develop skills. However, similarly to many other games in the genre, Dragonwilds was launched in early access and is not finished. However, developers shared the roap. Let’s look at it.

The studio responsible for RuneScape: Dragonwilds – Jagex – revealed a roap. Thanks to that we now know what to expect in the later stages of early access and there are things which we should be waiting for.

Features in development

  1. New region called Fellhollow, a domain of undead, with the soul-eater dragon Imaru as a ruler.
  2. New skills from all categories: Magic, Ranged and Farming. Moreover. Skill cap itself will be also raised.
  3. Of course, fresh quests and gear are also points on the roap. Be ready to listen to new music and learn more about lore of this interesting world, too.
  4. Two additional game modes – hardcore and creative.
  5. At some point we will get a new enemy – lesser dragon – and more animals.
  6. Improvement of the building feature – expanded base and defenses.
  7. Additional vaults.
  8. More crafting tiers

Ongoing improvements

  1. Lighting and weather.
  2. Multiplayer and difficulty.
  3. Performance.
  4. Combat.
  5. Messaging and Tutorialisation.

In the interview, Mod Doom, Jagex senior community manager, revealed that studio’s plan assumes regular updates every three to four months. It’s really ambitious statement.

However, you have to that developers’ plans don't always work out. The story with aforementioned Valheim is a perfect example. Back in 2021, Iron Gate planned to bring four updates to the game. Unfortunately, creators had to when version 1.0 will be released.
