Disney brought Lucasfilm Games back to life. All new licensed Star Wars games will be released under this brand.
Founded in 1982, Lucasfilm Games (later known as LucasArts) returns to life - in a sense. On the official website of Star Wars , Lucasfilm Games was announced as the "official identity" for all Star Wars licensed games . Disney wants the branch to work with the "best studios". The change was celebrated with a video (available below) and the opening of Lucasfilm Games s on social media, where information about the company's activities will be posted.
What does this specifically mean for the future of the division? Nothing for the time being if we ignore the new logo that will appear on all Star Wars games. There is still an agreement between Disney and Electronic Arts under which the publisher has the exclusive right to create games set in the Star Wars universe. We can probably forget about the return of many iconic LucasArts brands, such as Monkey Island - the announcement only mentions Star Wars games.
