Valve is making it easier for gamers with disabilities to find games that are accessible to them.

Gabe Newell's company is constantly introducing new improvements for s and developers on the most popular PC digital distribution platform. The company reminded about this as part of the March summary of Steam's development and assured that it has plans for more changes.

The latest post from Valve reveals that the improvements will focus on features that many creators have been adding in recent years: options related to accessibility. Thanks to them, more players can enjoy video games, even those who theoretically shouldn't be able to have fun with many titles.

Nevertheless, not every game offers such , even if you disregard older games. Not every "available" production takes into such options. Hence, the new questionnaire for developers and publishers about the accessibility features present in their games. It's about the options for the audiovisual layer and difficulty level, as well as the "data input" options, including changing written text to speech and vice versa.

Valve plans to make this information available to Steam s as soon as the publishers fill it up (the platform owner wants to give them some time for this). This will take into the data on game cards and new options in the Steam search engine, which the company presented in a screenshot.

In theory, the new "tags" won't be mandatory, but let's be honest: developers will want to include them so that people searching for games with certain accessibility features will find their title after applying the relevant filters. Developers can find more information on the Steam partners help page.
