Steam's Autumn Sale Was the Biggest One Ever

This year's Steam autumn sale was the biggest in the history of the store. Valve shared a handful of interesting stats in an entry summarizing its last sale. The most important thing from the point of view of gamedev teams is that this year's autumn sale was the biggest sale in of revenue for developers and publishers. This shows that Valve's website is still the best market to sell video games from year to year, despite growing competition.

As far as gamers are concerned, more than one million people made their first transaction in the store during the autumn sale, which is 33% more than a year ago. 24 million people were active on Steam during the promotion's period, which is 7 million more than in 2019.

Valve also boasted that more titles than ever were successful during this autumn sale - from games that made at least $10,000 to those that made over $1 million. This was achieved, among other things, through improved store browsing. There was a convenient subpage for each game genre, where some titles were highlighted and others were easy to access.
