Command and Conquer, which is a beloved series for many players. The game was released today for those who have bought the Deluxe Edition (though there are reports that by mistake Standard Edition owners can also play). Others have to wait a week for a global launch. However, we are only talking about PC premiere. As of now, the game has not been released on other platforms like Xbox, PS5, PS4 and Switch. Will it be available on consoles at some point?

According to the official FAQ, the console release is not planned yet. It is not surprising. Developers have some issues with the PC release, adding more ports would make the situation even worse. It is not a secret that creators have to postpone the third faction, which will be added to the game at some point after the release, not at launch, like it was originally planned.

Moreover, keep in mind that RTS games are not often ported to consoles. One of the reasons is surely the difficulty in preparing good controller in this kind of productions. Of course, it is not a rule. We can name for example Age of Empires, which was released on other platforms in the past.

Will it be a similar case for Tempest Rising? It’s too early to tell. First of all, we should wait for the addition of the missing faction. Probably, we can’t hope for the answer to potential port question until that point. Moreover, if something like that ever happen, Xbox Series X / S or PS5 release is more probable than PS4, Switch or Xbox One.
