Original news (February 27, 8:21 a.m. PT)

The latest Civilization faces quite a challenge. After the unsuccessful release, it became clear that the next part of the cult series left much to be desired, which affected the got to work, trying to give the game the right form, smooth out the shortcomings, and encourage more players to give it a chance.

Civilization at a crossroads

The Crossroads of the World DLC, which has already appeared in the official game development plans for the next year, it will be split into two segments: the first is scheduled to launch in early March and will introduce Great Britain and Carthage as playable nations.

Besides, the group of leaders will include Ada Lovelace (a British mathematician and programming pioneer), and the collection of world wonders will be expanded with new locations (these are four mountain peaks: the Nepalese Machapuchare, Mount Fuji, the Bulgarian Vihren, and the Peruvian Vinicunca).

The second part of the DLC is planned for the end of March. It is supposed to include Bulgaria and Nepal, as well as another leader, Simon Bolivar, the leader of the Libertadores, a faction fighting for the liberation of South America from Spanish rule at the turn of the 19th century.

Owners of the seventh Civilization in the Deluxe and Founders Edition will receive DLC without additional charges. The expansion will also be available for purchase separately.

However, this is not the end of the updates - several free new features have also been announced for March. Among them are Mount Everest and the Bermuda Triangle, and the gameplay itself is enriched by two events: Marvelous Mountains and Natural Wonder Battle. Two major updates are also planned - 1.1.0 (beginning of March) and 1.1.1 (end of March). Time will show whether these changes will convince players and allow the latest Civilization to "stand out."
