Unreal Tournament 3 Will Return to Steam as F2P Game
Unreal Tournament 3 will most likely escape from under the axe of Epic Games. All indications are that the title will return as a free-to-play game.

Yesterday we wrote about Unreal Tournament 3, will be spared.
- Unreal Tournament 3 will return as a F2P game, and without any microtransactions.
- The game will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG.com. The project will offer cross-play between these services.
- For now, it is not known when the free version will be released. Old servers of UT3 are scheduled to be shut down on January 24 next year - the new incarnation of the game will debut only after that event.
- On the game's product card on Steam has already been revised, adding information about the project's free-to-play nature and the need for an Epic Games .
This news is some consolation, but it won't fully make up for the shutdown of servers for the other installments. These games LAN play, so fans won't have much trouble preparing their own replacements, but Epic Games' decision is saddening nevertheless.
To make matters worse, the company is not only shutting down the servers of these games, but has also withdrawn them from sale on Steam. At the time of writing this news, they remain available for purchase on GOG.com, but it remains to be seen whether this too will change.
