Enshrouded has just released the 6th major update, entitled Thralls of Twilight, adding many new features to the game. One of them introduces Weapon Gems. How do you unlock this mechanic? What are gems for? How do you use them? Answers to these questions are in our guide!
What are gems in Enshrouded?
Gems are special items added in the Thralls of Twilight update. They can be inserted into weapons that have a special slot. This will enhance your weapons with unique effects and abilities. Please note, however, that this mechanic only applies to some higher rarity items, and they must have been acquired after Update 6.
How to unlock the gems mechanic?
This mechanic will not be unlocked immediately after the update. You will first need to talk to the alchemist and select the conversation option with the red exclamation mark: About Weapon Gems. You will then receive a quest called Finding and Using A Gem Forge. After the conversation is over, a new marker will appear on your map, symbolizing a Gem Forge. This is where you will be able to upgrade, remove or equip gems for your rare weapons. The quest will walk you through the mechanic and will allow you to get the gem. However, you will need to find a compatible weapon yourself.
Additional features in Update 6
In addition to the Weapon Gems system itself, Thralls of Twilight also offers exclusive Shroud rewards. New crafting resources, which can only be found in Shroud, will unlock armor sets, spell types, confusion grenades and more.
What's more, the Enshrouded after dark have become a lot more interesting. From now on, there will be different challenges at night, and therefore precious rewards to be won. You can find out more about the entire Update 6 on the official Enshrouded developers' website.
