A Memoir Blue is a narrative adventure game that, due to its artistic flair and the themes it addresses, is described by its creators as an interactive poem. The game was developed by Cloisters Interactive, an independent American studio, and was published by Annapurna Interactive.
The heroine of the game A Memoir Blue is a swimmer named Miriam. After listening to an old song being a real star of the sport, the girl dives into memories. The heroine recalls her troubled past and tries to understand the complicated yet strong bond she has with her mother.
A Memoir Blue is a side-scroller. During the game we explore surreal locations. Because of the discipline, in which Miriam is a master, in many of them appears water. We are talking about a room filled with it, a train under its surface, or even the sea bed, on which a thoughtful girl sits. In each of these places we solve ingenious puzzles and observe the heroine's childhood memories. In this way, step by step, we discover more pages from her past and learn more and more about the relationship she has with her mother.
The graphic design of A Memoir Blue in an original way combines 3D elements (the heroine, the places she visits) and 2D (scenes from Miriam's childhood).
