A sixth expansion for the refreshed version of Age of Empires II. AoE II: Definitive Edition - Victors and Vanquished offers 19 new scenarios, as well introduces new leaders, stories and gameplay mechanics. Some of them were inspired by the works of the fans.
Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Victors and Vanquished is an expansion for the RTS released in 2019 titled Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings. This DLC is the result of collaboration between the teams of Forgotten Empires, World’s Edge, Tantalus Media and Wicked Witch.
Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Victors and Vanquished introduces nineteen new scenarios. While five scenarios were made entirely from scratch, the remaining fourteen were inspired by the community's most popular creations.
They allow us to take on the role of famous rulers and commanders - from Ragnar Lodbrok conquering northern Europe, through Otto I the Great trying to efficiently navigate between the whims of his three vassals on the way to creating the Holy Roman Empire, ending with Oda Nabunaga, a Japanese leader who can side with one of the six factions and lead it to domination over feudal Japan.
New mechanics have been prepared for the new leaders, such as bonuses from deities worshiped by our Vikings, the choice of a faction to shake up the Land of the Rising Sun, or even the need to use gifts at the right moments to appease your vassals in medieval . In addition, each of the scenarios has been fully voiced over. The list of updates is concluded with various bug fixes, as well as refreshed balance and controls improvements.
Similarly to the basic version of the game, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Victors and Vanquished can be played alone or in multiplayer mode (over the Internet or in a local network).
Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Victors and Vanquished is a non-standalone expansion, so it requires the base version of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition to run.
