Mechanics

Amid Evil VR makes use of the first-person perspective (FPP). The player traverses vast, diverse levels full of secrets and information about the game's world. The gameplay mostly revolves around using magical artifacts to kill hordes of enemies. The further we progress, the more powerful the enemies get; they also learn our behavior and start adapting to it. Our weapons, however, can be infused with the defeated enemies' souls; this increases our combat capabilities, letting us keep up with our foes. The game also features cheats and many accessibility options letting us customize the gameplay to our preferences.

Technical aspects

Amid Evil VR runs on the Unreal Engine 4. The visuals make use of a retro artstyle reminiscent of the genre's most iconic titles, such as the Hexen series. The atmospheric soundtrack was composed by Andrew Hulshult.
