ARKTIKA.1 is a VR science fiction first-person shooter developed by 4A Games, creators of the Metro game series. The game takes place in the 22nd century, a couple of decades into the new ice age. Humans are forced to live in areas near the equator, but the territories in the north and south are yet to be completely abandoned because they are still rich in natural resources.

The game takes place in the 22nd century, a couple of decades into the new ice age. Humans are forced to live in areas near the equator, as these are the only places where remotely normal existence is possible.
However, territories in the north and south are not completely abandoned because they are still rich in natural resources. Some people still live in icebound parts of the planet in order to harvest them. We play as a soldier who was hired to protect a colony located in the former Russia.
ARKTIKA.1 for PC is a VR-only first person shooter. As we play, we will face bandits, agents hired by our employer’s rivals, and strange creatures that came along with the ice age.
Gameplay focuses on combat and its mechanics were designed from scratch to match motion controllers. Thanks to that we can, for example, use two pistols and aim in two different directions.
ARKTIKA.1 for PC uses an improved version of the engine used in Metro games, making its visuals really impressive. The game requires a VR set.
