Mechanics

Blood: Fresh Supply uses the formula typical of FPS games from mid- and late 1990's. The players navigate through vast maps in search of secrets and keys that open the way to next levels. Individual locations are full of various hidden surprises and weapons, including various pop-culture references.

Like in Duke Nukem 3D, the players cannot look up or down while playing. Shooting opponents does not require us to aim accurately. It is enough that the enemies are within reach of our weapons and sight. The limited movement of the camera is partly compensated by the fact that Caleb can crouch, which turns out to be useful when exploring and avoiding threats. During the game, we use firearms, as well as occult magic and tools. On our quest we take down human enemies as well as various demonic monsters.

Game modes

In addition to the single-player campaign, Blood Remastered also features a multiplayer mode with many classic gameplay variants such as deathmatch.

Technical aspects

Blood: Fresh Supply preserves all the elements of the original audiovisual setting, including level design, combining three-dimensional locations with two-dimensional character sprites. However, the game offers for modern screen resolutions (including 4K). The title has been adapted to work with the latest operating systems, providing for DirectX and Vulcan libraries, as well as modern audio standards. The technical side of the multiplayer mode was also completely rebuilt.
