A combination of roguelike and card game, developed by the Polish Thing Trunk studio. In the Book of Demons: HELLCARD we clashes with enemy hordes, using combat skills assigned to special cards, which we expand as we progress.
Book of Demons: HELLCARD is a hybrid of roguelike and card game, developed by the independent Polish studio Thing Trunk. The project was born as an additional game mode foor the devs' debut work, the hack'n'slash Book of Demons. With time, however, it grew to such an extent that the creators decided to transform it into a separate game.
In Book of Demons: HELLCARD we are taken to a fantasy universe created for the purposes of Book of Demons. While playing, we traverse gloomy dungeons and face the dangers lurking there. All this in order to confront the mighty Archdemon on the last level of the underworld.
Book of Demons: HELLCARD is played in turn-based battles with opponents. Due to the fact that opponents outnumber, us success is ensured by juggling with the abilities of the protagonist. The individual skills have been assigned to special cards. Although at first their number is limited, over time we expand our deck with more and more powerful cards, thanks to which as we progress we can face stronger and stronger enemies occupying lower levels of the underground. In combat, we must attention to the placement of opponents, because their position on the battlefield can be used to our advantage (for example, if several enemies are close to each other, it is worth to use one of the area attacks).
Book of Demons: HELLCARD can be played solo or in co-operation mode for up to three players. Those who prefer to play alone can control a single hero in the battle or choose to "hire" allies controlled by artificial intelligence.
In of the quality, the visuals of Book of Demons: HELLCARD do not differ significantly from what we were used to by the first Book of Demons. The game adopts an eye catching style, thanks to which all the elements of the game world look like they are made of paper.
