Snowfall is the second expansion for After Dark, some of the novelties introduced in Snowfall were given at no cost to the owners of the vanilla game in the form of a free patch.
Gameplay
Cities: Skylines – Snowfall for PC, PS4 and XONE introduces changing weather and temperature which actually influence the functioning of our city. As temperature goes down, citizens use a lot more power to heat their homes and workplaces. Our task is to face the fluctuating demand for electricity. We prevent any potential problems by developing power plants and transmission lines or by deciding to build a municipal central heating system. Apart from rain or fog, which are both purely cosmetic, a heavy snowfall can pose a real challenge for the mayor since it may paralyze the street traffic. The players have to ensure that snow removal be performed as well as to provide an adequate number of snowplows. But snow is not only a difficulty; it can also be used to build new kinds of parks and special buildings. All of the above options and structures are available on the new winter-themed map.
Moreover, the players can make use of an enhanced system of collective transport management. Thanks to this, it's now easier to control bus routes and set all options connected to them. However, the biggest novelty is the introduction of the long-awaited trams, which complement the list of the available means of public transportation.
