Dragon Age II for PC, X360 and PS3 is the second installment in the series developed by BioWare, which is best known for the production of many cult role-playing games (e.g. Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Mass Effect). Released in 2009, the first Dragon Age has been recognized by both the players and the press, and is often referred to as the spiritual successor of Baldur's Gate.

Plot

The game takes us back to the dark fantasy world inhabited by humans, elves, and dwarves. It is plagued by new problems. This time, we assume the role of Hawke – the penniless refugee who plays a key role in the future of the game world and later on transforms into a legend known as the Champion of Kirkwall. The game's plot covers ten years of his life, during which he gathers deadly allies and gains both fame and wealth. The whole story is set in the past. All events have already taken place, and the players are listeners of many different storytellers, who often differ in their perspectives and views on the stories recounted.

Dragon Age II: Mark of the Assassin introduces a new character that can our party—an elven assassin named Tallis who is modeled after and voiced by Felicia Day. With her appearance, the player has an opportunity to take part in a new adventure that focuses on a magic relict called the Heart of the Many. The heroes have to find this rare item, which is no small task since it was apparently hidden in an Orlaisian baron’s estate. Mark of the Assassin allows the players to visit a new outside of Kirkwall, encounter new enemies, and make use of an expanded weapon arsenal, among other things. Gameplay-wise, Mark of the Assassin bases on the solutions of the vanilla Dragon Age II, so it is still a real-time party-based RPG with active pause.

A DLC for Dragon Age II, the second installment of the popular fantasy RPG series by the experienced studio BioWare. Dragon Age II: Legacy is a new adventure that can be started at any moment during the main campaign. It starts with an attack of a dwarven Cartel that hunts the Hawke family for an unknown reason. The investigation takes the protagonist and his companions to a Grey Warden prison in the mountains, where they discover the truth about the the protagonist's father and the identity of his persecutors, and also face the most powerful of all Darkspawn. Apart from the aforementioned prison, the expansion introduces several other areas, including vast wastelands. We will encounter a few new beasts on our travels, such as brontos or genlock alphas that hide behind giant shields. Beside the main storyline, Dragon Age II: Legacy offers side quests as well as previously unknown armor sets and special weapons that can be customized.

Dragon Age II: The Exiled Prince comes as a part of the Signature Edition but can also be purchased separately. The expansion allows us to bring to our party the eponymous prince, an exiled noble family member who was forced to the Chantry. The peaceful life of Sebastian Vael is disrupted by a tragic message about his family’s massacre. The friar decides to take his vengeance on the murderers and the player decides to help him. The additional storyline of The Exiled Prince consists of three acts that give us plenty of opportunities to explore new locations, fight enemies with new kinds of weapons, and have conversations with NPCs. Sebastian is a rogue and specializes in archery. What’s more, he is potential love interest for female protagonists.
