A special version of Drive Club, the racing game developed in 2014 by Evolution studio, of which became part of Codemasters Software after their previous studio was disbanded. This edition was created for virtual reality goggles. In the game the player controls various sport cars which participate in races against other players or AI-controlled opponents.
DriveClub VR is a racing game for PS4 and for PlayStation VR goggles. It is a strongly modified version of DriveClub, a game that was released in October 2014 by Evolution Studios. Despite the fact that the studio was closed, the game was developed by the creators of the original title who were hired in Codemasters.
The title is a racing game in which player controls various sport cars. Thanks to the virtual reality technology, the action is shown from the eyes of the driver who can look freely around the interior of the vehicle. Players participate in various races in which they face other people or opponents controlled by AI. The gameplay, similarly as in original DriveClub, is action-based. However, differences between various cars are easily noticeable.
Despite the fact that in general principles DriveClub VR is very similar to the original game, developers added many novelties. In addition to adapting the gameplay for PlayStation VR, the game introduces completely new urban tracks. The sounds were improved as well and a special mode was made available in which one can watch details of car models. The latter option is similar to Forzavista mode known from Forza Motorsport series.
