Enigma of Fear is an action-adventure game in the style of detective survival horror. The game is the result of a collaboration between the independent studio Dumativa and a developer using the pseudonym Cellbit.

Plot

Enigma of Fear takes us to the Ordem Paranormal universe, created by Rafael Lange. It is also known from a paper RPG and various comics.

The main character of the game is a young detective named Mia. The protagonist arrives with her faithful dog - Lupim - to the so-called "place that does not exist". Our protagonist's task is to solve the mystery of the disappearance of her father – the leader of Ordo Realitas, an organization investigating paranormal phenomena. A sinister group called the Cult of Fear was apparently involved in this.

In Enigma of Fear we view the action in an isometric view. The game offers us an open world, which we can freely traverse. By exploring eerie locations and solving various puzzles, we gather evidence and valuable data. The gathered information not only brings us closer to discovering the truth about this place and past events, but also allows us to push the plot forward.

To complicate matters, Mia and her four-legged companion face numerous dangers in the form of monsters roaming the area. Apart from regular enemies, from time to time we have to face powerful bosses. The protagonist defends herself against them, making use of firearms and melee weapons. It is worth mentioning that often a better approach than rushing into a fight is to sneak around and slip behind the backs of unsuspecting opponents.

Another thing is that having a free hand in deciding where we are going, we may feel lost. In such cases, we can count on the help of other agents, such as the hacker Samuel or the occultist Agatha, who provide us with advice and tips. Additionally, a special mental map comes to our aid, allowing us to check our previous discoveries.

The graphic design of Enigma of Fear consists of character sprites maintained in pixel art style and atmospheric, shrouded in darkness locations seen in three dimensions.
