EverQuest: The Broken Mirror is the twenty-second supplement to thesecond edition in 2004, the first EverQuest is still very popular among players, which motivates the creators of the series from Daybreak Game Company to release further extensions. Although the whole game is distributed in a free model, The Broken Mirror, like the previous add-ons, is a paid production and in addition to access to all previously released DLC, brings to the game a traditional set of novelties, so a new story and additional content.
Story
Story EverQuest: The Broken Mirror is woven around the figure of the fallen goddess Anashti Sul. Every day, our antagonist wakes up and, looking deep into the title mirror, discovers the deeper and deeper recesses of her soul, which is dominated by corruption and the unbridled desire for power. It's these qualities that will ultimately lead her to a hitherto unknown place and time - the well known to EverQuest s of Norrath Land. It's easy to guess that the players will have to face the mighty goddess and prevent the spreading chaos.
Mechanics
EverQuest: The Broken Mirror doesn't, of course, bring significant changes to the gameplay mechanics itself, but extension owners gain a whole lot of previously unavailable content. The game takes place in seven new locations, 4 of which are completely new places in Norrath and the remaining 3 are refreshed versions of previously known places. Along with them, new spells and objects appear in the game, as well as a number of storyline tasks, missions and heroic adventures, and a dozen or so additional multiplayer raids. Two classic raid zones return among them: Plane of Fear and Plane of Hate, designed for players at levels 75 to 105. During the game, the level of difficulty is scaled to the most advanced player of the expedition.
Technical issues
Technically, The Broken Mirror does not bring any changes to the EverQuest series. Graphic design is therefore maintained at the same level as in previous extensions, and although in comparison with the original version of the game from 1999, it has been significantly improved over the years, after the game you can already see the age of time.
