God Eater Resurrection is an action game for PC, PS4 and PSV developed by Japanese Shift studio. It is an enhanced version of Gods Eater Burst, which was released in 2011 for PlayStation Portable console.
God Eater Resurrection is set in year 2071, in which humanity faced extinction after powerful monsters appeared on Earth, which are called Aragami. Conventional arsenal is ineffective against them, so a new type of weapon has been created using monsters’ cells – God Arc.
The game tells a story of a teenager who s Fenrir – the organization that exterminates Aragami. He starts as a complete novice, but quickly gains experience, gets promoted and finally becomes the leader of his own team. He will also meet many other of Fenrir during his journey and play a key role in changing the flow of war against the monsters.
It is noteworthy that God Eater Resurrection isn’t limited to events present in Gods Eater Burst, as developers added many new plot lines and stories, which connect first entry of the series with God Eater 2.
Players start their adventure with God Eater Resurrection by creating their own character, choosing his or her name and appearance. We observe the world from third-person perspective, with camera located behind our character. Most of the time is spent on performing missions, which usually involve fighting Aragami. The game offers arcade, but complex battle system, with a lot of tactical freedom and many special attacks to perform. Additionally, each weapon has four different modes that we can switch between, letting it act as firearm, blade or shield that blocks damage, and finally change it into a giant beast.
As we traverse the game’s world, three other warriors accompany us. They are controlled by artificial intelligence in single player mode, but it is possible to play with other people through cooperation multiplayer mode.
While fighting is a core of the game, it also offers various challenges. We can face tens of different Aragami, each with different statistics. God Eater Resurrection features no weak monsters, which would die from one hit, whatsoever – every enemy is a true test of skill and the player has to learn its tactic and attacks. Gameplay is also enriched with upgrade and modification system for equipment and weapons.
Aside from additional content, God Eater Resurrection presents players with greatly improved graphics compared to original release. Thanks to using PC, PS4 and PSV power, developers could offer sharper textures, add more detailed characters’ models and surroundings, as well as new visuals effects.

Game Ratings for God Eater Resurrection Video Game.
Niche Gamer: 8 / 10 by Tyler Valle
To make a long story short, I think God Eater is a good game and definitely one that any monster hunting fan should look into. For only $20, the game is practically a steal to hold you over until August when God Eater 2 comes out.
Destructoid: 8 / 10 by Josh Tolentino
Perhaps it took a move to the home consoles and a years-delayed retouch, but God Eater Resurrection shines as a less demanding, flashier alternative to the likes of Monster Hunter. It'll never ask for the same depth of dedication, but it doesn't try to, and in (not) doing so, manages to prove that being the "diet" version of something isn't always a bad thing.
Twinfinite: 3.5 / 5 by Ishmael Romero
All in all, God Eater Resurrection is a solid game, fun and showing a surprising amount of depth in both its story and mechanics. If you’ve been looking for a good monster hunting experience and don’t have a Nintendo 3DS, this is definitely a game you’ll want to check out.
