Gothic II: Golden Gate 2 - Goddess Heart is a free mod for the game Gothic II: Night of the Raven. It is also a continuation of the 2014 mod titled Gothic II: Golden Gate. It is a work of the Polish team Golden Gate Team, which has existed since 2007.
Gothic II: Golden Gates 2 - Goddess Heart takes us to the kingdom of Elea, specifically - to the island of Samoa. A century ago, this piece of land was home to brutal cultists, worshiping the goddess Hatiret. Even though they were annihilated, one can still find ruins of the buildings they erected and the mysteries they left behind, waiting to be discovered.
The action of this mod is set several years after the events depicted in the first part of Golden Gate. The main character of the game is a hunter named Morris. Although the protagonist tries at all costs to leave the island, fate has a different plan for him, forcing him to play an important role in the history of this place.
The mod offers plenty of references to the Nameless One (the main character of the original Gothic trilogy). Players can find out how (according to the authors) his fate unfolded, as well as what role he played in the history of Elea.
Gothic II: Golden Gates 2 - Goddess Heart brings a new story and main character, as well as previously inaccessible areas with an open structure, which we can freely traverse. Its size is compared to Jarkendar from Night of the Raven. It is not lacking in camps, which brings associations with the first part of the Gothic series.
For the purposes of modification, a series of quests have been prepared that push the plot forward. They force us to take a stand on one side of the conflict and make decisions that affect the course of the story. Additionally, we can also find side missions (many of them can be completed in various ways), as well as two romantic storylines.
Morris also occasionally meets characters known from the saga and gets to know a number of new independent heroes and heroines. The icing on the cake are the previously unavailable items.
When working on the Gothic II: Golden Gates 2 - Goddess Heart mod, the authors focused on models, textures, and animations, preparing a series of new ones. The creators also took care of the original soundtrack.
