Mechanics

In the PC release of the game, players observe the action from the first-person perspective (FPP). Gameplay has been based on dynamic and spectacular combat, in which one has to fight hordes of overgrown insects including powerful bosses, who sur their kin not only with their strength but also with their endurance and size. Of course, a player is not unarmed – in combat, one can use the diverse futuristic arsenal featuring disc launchers, pistols, crossbows and multiple special abilities; moreover, a player can throw various items as well as smaller enemies. One should that along with his progress, he gains access to more powerful weapons.

The game has been divided into consecutive missions, which one can approach alone or accompanied by other players – should another bounty hunter us during an assignment, its difficulty level is immediately adjusted to maintain the proper gameplay balance and difficulty level. Interestingly enough, the missions change with each attempt, which makes for an increased replayability of the game described herein. Between the missions, a player visits his base, in which he can buy new pieces of gear and test them before the battles at hand.

The developers decided to implement several controls’ schemes – one can look around the environment by moving his head and move around the battlefield either by using the quick teleportation system or by simply walking. A player can also target his enemies using the motion controllers.

Technical aspects

Gunheart for PC delivers high-quality visuals, especially for a game developed exclusively for Virtual Reality headgear. A player is bound to appreciate the polished character models as well as the detailed environment textures.
