Mechanics

Hearthstone: Ashes of Outland introduces 135 new cards, as well as two completely new mechanics. The first are the new legendary minions called Prime, who have been designed to have a long-term effect on the battlefield - in their basic form we can call them at the beginning of the clash, but their characteristic feature is that after they get off the table they come back in a modified, much stronger form.

The second new mechanics are Imprisoned Demons – these creatures cannot attack or be attacked by two turns after a summoning, but once they are activated, they have really strong special abilities that can decide the fate of the whole battle.

Along with the premiere of Ashes of Outland expansion, a new class, the Demon Hunter, was also introduced. The Demon Hunter rewards an aggressive style of play and allows for devastating attacks on rival heroes. Along with this novelty, there is also Illidan Stormrage. It is worth noting that several dozen of the new cards introduced were prepared with Demon Hunter in mind.

The update, which debuted with the expansion, also introduced a number of improvements to the Priest class.

Game modes

Hearthstone: Ashes of Outland offers a new mini-campaign, but the main mode remains online multiplayer. The developers decided to make a number of changes to the available modules e.g. improved matchmaking in Ranked mode and improved Battlegrounds).

Technical aspects

Hearthstone: Ashes of Outland makes no changes to the basic game design. We only receive a number of new illustrations decorating the cards.
