Hearts of Iron 2: Doomsday

Doomsday is the title of an expansion for Hearts of Iron 2 for PC, the second installment of one of the best strategy game series set in the times of World War II. Contrary to other production of this kind, the add-on is completely standalone. Hearts of Iron 2: Doomsday comes with the content of the vanilla game enriched with various novelties.

Mechanics

The add-on extends the virtual struggle to the year of 1953 (new missions, such as the conflict in Israel, thus appear). Doomsday also features a completely alternative, playable scenario of the World War II, which lets us see how would our world look like should the military actions had turned out differently than in history books. Moreover, the developers provided the players with an expanded technological development tree (in the arms race, we can construct various kinds of weapons, including an atomic bomb or battle choppers and the like) and the possibility of buying blueprints from our allies.
