An FPS with roguelike and arena survival elements. Hellbreak takes us to the titular Hell where we must face hordes of demons. We can rely on various firearms and spells. There are also curses and blessings, capable of applying negative effects on our enemies and making our character stronger.
Hellbreak is a dynamic FPS, enriched with elements borrowed from roguelike and arena survival genres. The game was developed by the independent Turkish studio Double Barrel Games and represents its debut project.
In Hellbreak we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP).
During the game, we play as a soldier who ends up in hell. In order to save his soul from eternal damnation, the protagonist must gain the favor of the rulers of the abyss.
The pillar of the gameplay is the elimination of hordes of enemies. Our path is primarily blocked by standard enemies, whose strength lies in their numbers. Apart from them, from time to time we have to face bosses who are much more powerful.
The game provides us with a wide range of weapons. It includes revolvers, shotguns, and machine guns. We can make use of various spells on the battlefield, allowing us to burn enemies, summon demonic totems, and transform into a specter.
The culmination of all this are curses and blessings. Curses impose various negative effects on our enemies. Blessings reflect the growing favor of hellish rulers and provide us with various enhancements.
Our actions on the battlefield are constantly evaluated, and by linking attacks and kills into spectacular combinations, we gradually increase the multiplier. We can boast about our results in online leaderboards, which serve as a substitute for multiplayer competition.
