Hellgate VR is an FPS game set in the universe known from the 2007's Hellgate: London. The game described herein has been developed by HanbitSof exclusively for PlayStation 4 and Virtual Reality headgear.
Hellgate VR for PS4 is a prequel of Hellgate: London and allows a player to participate in the events taking place before those showed in the first installment of the series. One gets to engage in the war between humans and demons with the task of eliminating the creatures from Hell.
In Hellgate VR for PS4, a player observes the action from the first-person perspective (FPP). Unlike other games ing the Virtual Reality headgear, in the game described herein one can freely move around the environment and is able to look around by simply moving his head. The game revolves around exploring consecutive locations and defeating all the encountered enemies using a diversified arsenal – among the available weapons, the most useful ones are the machine guns, nonetheless, a player can chose other murder devices that fit his personal preferences. Apart from the minor opponents, a player occasionally is bound to face much more powerful bosses.
The game has been based on Unreal Engine 4, which allowed the developers to deliver high-quality visuals. Players are bound to appreciate the enemy models as well as the grim and dark atmosphere accompanying a player during the battles well complemented with the poor lighting and dark colors of the visited locations.
