Il-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Kuban takes the players to the Eastern Front of the World War II, giving them a chance to participate in the eponymous Battle of Kuban. The game is played over an area of 300 by 400 kilometers.
IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Kuban for PC is a work of 1C Company and 777 Studios. Just like it was in the case of previus games in the series – IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Moscow – the game takes players to the Eastern Front of the World War II. This time you get a chance of participating in the eponymous Battle of Kuban.
IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Kuban is a war-time flight simulator, which tries its best to faithfully recreate the World War II period and the flight mechanics of the planes used in that time. In the single player mode the game takes place over an area of 300 by 400 kilometers. The in-game terrain is quite diversified – you fly over small towns and sea ports as well as huge forests and a part of Crimea. You fight aerial battles while sitting behind the steering wheels of such machines as Bf-109 G-4, Yak-7b, IL-2 mod.43 UBT czy Spitfire Mk.VB. The selection of planes is not without a reason – those machines actually played an essential role in the conflict, and not only locally, but also in battles around the globe. Besides, battles are also waged on the sea (in which a key part is played by powerful destroyers, transporters, submarines, and torpedo boats) and on land – in the latter you can control tanks.
IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Kuban offers a variety of game modes. The core game mode is the single player campaign, which consists of 15 diverse missions. Besides, the game includes co-op multiplayer. Players can also view all plane models in a special mode as well as design their own camos. All interested can make use of a mission editor, which lets you create your own missions and share them with the game’s community.
IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Kuban for PC is powered by a modified version of the engine that was created for the previous installments in the series. Nevertheless, the game uses DirectX 11, which results in high-quality graphics, featuring new visual effects. The title s VR headsets, but they are not necessary to play.
