Into the Dead 2 is the second installment of the series initiated by PikPok in 2012. Like the first installment, the title combines elements of action and endless runner games.

Plot

The action of Into the Dead 2 starts when the main character suffers a car accident. The protagonist quickly discovers that the whole area is overrun by hordes of living corpses. From now on, his goal is to reach his family as quickly as possible.

Interestingly, the story has a non-linear course, and it depends on our actions which of the several endings we will reach.

Mechanics

The events in which we take part in Into the Dead 2 are shown from the eyes of the hero. Throughout the seven chapters, consising of sixty stages in total, we run, avoiding the zombies or confronting them with the use of a vast arsenal. The devs provided us with a variety of weapons – from melee weapons, through various pistols, to explosives - which we unlock and improve as we progress. It is important to watch out, as ammunition is a scarce commodity here.

On our way there are various adversaries - apart from standard "cannon fodder", which is not a big problem to overcome, in places such as oil fields, military bases, farms or camps, we face, among others, armored zombies and undead that are able to run quite fast.

Technical aspects

Three-dimensional visuals of Into the Dead 2 show a decent level of quality. The dark atmosphere is created by gloomy stylistics, scarce colors and atmospheric soundtrack.
