Jewel Master: Cradle of Egypt 2 is a puzzle game produced by Cerasus Media studio from the popular casual Jewel Master series. Like the previous installments of the cycle, the player has to build the capital of the ancient world by solving puzzles such as "match three elements" and simple logical-arcade mini-games.
Jewel Master: Cradle of Egypt 2, released on NDS and 3DS, is the next installment of the bestseller series of logical games. The production of Cerasus Media studio is addressed to the so-called casuals (occasional players) and is based on solutions known from the original released in 2011 on PC.
As the title suggests, Jewel Master: Cradle of Egypt 2 takes place in Egypt. We play as the builder of the capital of the ancient world. The creators have prepared challenges covering 5 epochs illustrating the development of civilization.
The game is based on mini-games - the game offers over 100 of them. They are mainly done in the "match-3" formula. However, the game also has a variety of logical and arcade tasks. Their completion allows obtaining resources and building plans, which can be used to expand the city.
The advantage of the game is an interesting historical background. During the game, players will learn a lot of interesting facts related to ancient Egypt, its culture, beliefs and everyday life of its inhabitants. However, the educational message is not intrusive and doesn't detract from the gameplay.
The visuals of Jewel Master: Cradle of Egypt 2 are similar to those found in the first part. The developers, however, took advantage of the Nintendo handheld consoles, including an additional touchscreen display on both devices, which significantly facilitates the controls.
