A coop FPP shooter heavily inspired by Sea of Thieves, but with the action taking place in space. Jump Ship has us command the crew of the ship travelling the stars. We can explore new systems, attack other vessels and pick up various quests from the people we meet.

Jump Ship is a sci-fi shooter developed by Keepsake Games. This is an independent Swedish development studio, with people whose past projects include such games as Sea of Thieves in space".

Mechanics

In Jump Ship we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). During the game we control the crew of the title ship and travel through space, carrying out the quests set before us.

The gameplay is based on two pillars, the first of which is exploration and fighting battles in interstellar space. During space skirmishes, we must maneuver the ship, shoot accurately, manage energy (which we can redirect to speed or defensive and offensive systems), and also repair damage (including extinguishing fires).

The second pillar of the game are the moments when we leave the deck of our ship and board enemy units, go on space walks (made easier by a grappling hook and a jetpack) or land on various planets. In this case, a futuristic arsenal of firearms is made available to us.

As we progress, we collect new components that can be used to improve, repair or modify the ship.

Game modes

Even though Jump Ship allows for single-player fun, the game spreads its wings in the cooperative multiplayer mode over the Internet. Up to four players can tly achieve their goals and share roles on board of the ship - to be successful, the crew needs a pilot, a mechanic and a scout.
