Metal Eden is a futuristic FPS developed by the Polish studio Reikon Games (authors of Ruiner). We play as a female android Aska, ending up on a techno-planet called Mobius. The protagonist engages in dynamic battles, ripping out cores of her enemies. She's also able to wall run and use a grappling hook and this is helpful during platforming sections.
Metal Eden (initially known as Final Form) is a science fiction-themed Ruiner.
In Metal Eden we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The game has been divided into missions, during which we make our way through the urban landscapes of the planet Mobius and fight numerous enemies, occasionally also facing platforming challenges.
Fights mainly take place in arenas, which are littered with ramps and power-ups. On our way, we encounter both standard enemies, eliminated by us in wholesale quantities, as well as much more powerful foes, acting as bosses. Among the obstacles we have to overcome are "cannon fodder", snipers, armored units, and mechs.
On the battlefield, we must not only shoot accurately, but also be in constant motion and perform lightning-fast dodges, as well as look out for opportune moments to approach enemies and rip out their cores. We consume the latter, thereby regaining some of the lost health, or throw them at enemies, stunning them and gaining ammunition.
Apart from the futuristic arsenal, we make use of the protagonist's skills on the battlefield. Aska can wall run, stop in mid-air after a jump, transform into an armored ball, slide on rails, or make use of a grappling hook. These skills also come in handy during exploration.
As we progress, we develop Aska using special modules, which are divided into three groups: related to the strength and power of attacks, ripping out the cores of enemies, and the heroine's mobility.
Metal Eden operates on the Unreal Engine 5.
Metal Eden takes us to the world of the future, in which people have mastered the technology that allows them to transfer consciousness to machines. During the game, we play as Aska, a Hyper Unit equipped with human consciousness, who is sent to the "techno-moon" Mobius with the official task of uncovering the secrets of this unusual globe. Over time, the heroine learns the true purpose of her mission.
The role of the guide for the protagonist is played by a voice referred to as Nexus.
