Might & Magic: Heroes VII for PC is the seventh major installment in the cult turn-based strategy game series. The game, as were two previous titles in the franchise, was published by Ubisoft and developed by a third-party studio — this time around it was Limbic Entertainment, the creators of the Might & Magic X: Legacy, an RPG set in the same universe.

Story

The story of Might & Magic: Heroes VII takes place ten years after the events of Heroes of Might and Magic V, and its main theme is the civil war with the throne of the Empire at stakes. The campaign focuses on the young prince Ivan Griffin, Duke of the Griffin Duchy, who convened the so-called Council of Shadows, which s six factions, in order to claim the crown. To help the hero succeed, his councilors tell him the tales of the history of their people presented in the form of separate campaigns. Thanks to this solution, the story mode is very much non-linear.

Strategy

A standalone expansion for the 2015 turn-based strategy game Might & Magic: Heroes VII by Limbic Entertainment. The story takes place five years after the events of the core game, which resulted in Ivan Griffin becoming the first emperor of the Holy Griffin Empire. However, the peace doesn't last long and soon the Empire clashes with the neighboring Dwarven kingdom of Grimheim. Might & Magic: Heroes VII – Trial by Fire is focused on attempts of averting an armed conflict which could prove disastrous for both sides. The mechanics of the expansion remain virtually the same as the core game's, but its contents have been expanded. The expansion features two new campaigns, as well as bonus scenarios written by Terry B. Ray, the writer of Heroes of Might and Magic IV. Moreover, Trial by Fire also introduces six new Skirmish maps and the Fortress faction with its characteristic units and Rune Magic.
