Modern Tales: Age of Invention for AND, WP and PC is a casual hidden object adventure game. It was created by Polish studios Orchid Games and Artifex Mundi; both teams specialize in this exact genre.
The game is set in Paris, at the turn of the 19th century. During a world's fair, an unknown force abducts the most excellent scientists at the time. You play as Emily Patterson, the daughter of one of the scientists. Your task is to conduct your own investigation and thwart the kidnapper's nefarious plans before their machinations affect the fate of the whole world. The adventure takes place almost all across Europe, to the very ends of Siberia. Emily encounters many exemplary people from that time, including Coco Chanel, Albert Einstein, and Ferdinand Porsche, who often help her in dangerous situations, but sometimes also need her help as well.
Mechanics-wise, Modern Tales: Age of Invention doesn't differ from similar productions by Artifex Mundi. The game features an interesting plot, and the gameplay combines classic adventure game mechanics with HOPA elements. There are 30 locations to explore, from Switzerland to Siberia, and about a dozen minigames and hidden object scenes, where perceptiveness and logical thinking come in handy.
Moden Tales: Age of Invention for AND, WP and PC features high-quality audio-visual layer, like many other Artifex Mundi productions. You explore colorful hand-drawn locations and watch simple animations, which – combined with the absorbing story and intuitive puzzles – make the game approachable for almost every player.
