Nancy Drew: The Silent Spy is the 29th installment of a series of detective adventures with the heroine of popular youth detective stories in the lead role. Developers from Her Interactive studio decided to shed some more light on the protagonist's past, which should appeal to the fans of Nancy Drew.
Nancy Drew: The Silent Spy loosely refers to the motifs of The Clue of the Whistling Bagpipes (1962). A mysterious informant reveals to Nancy that the car accident in which her mother died years ago was not a coincidence. It turns out that agent Kate Drew had previously neutralized dangerous biological weapons in Scotland. The main character hopes to solve a riddle from the past.
Developers from Her Interactive remained faithful to the mechanics of the game known from earlier games about the adventures of Nancy Drew (including Nancy Drew: Ghost of Thornton Hall and Nancy Drew: The Deadly Device). The player directs the protagonist's actions during her investigation. The essence of the game is to search the location, talk to NPCs and discover clues to solve more puzzles. Simple mini-games add variety to the game.
Nancy Drew: The Silent Spy does not deviate from the quality of workmanship from the standards set by previous versions of the cycle. The game's visuals combine elements of 2 and 3D graphics. Noteworthy are the animated interludes, which often depict the memories of the protagonist. The whole aesthetic experience is complemented by an unobtrusive soundtrack.
