One Piece: Unlimited World Red

One Piece: Unlimited World Red is a 3D action game, in which the player assumes the role of a character from the Japanese One Piece manga series. The game has been published by Namco Bandai and developed by Ganbarion – since 2001 the studio has been working on consecutive game installments set in the comic book universe, most of which have been released exclusively in Japan. Interestingly enough, the One Piece manga series is one of the most popular comic book series in the Land of the Rising Sun, with the sales of each episode reaching six-digit figures. The elaborate and multi-layered storyline depicts the adventures of a young boy named Monkey D. Luffy, a pirate with supernatural skills, and his eccentric crew; together they search for a famous treasure hidden by the legendary raider – Gold Roger.

Plot

One Piece: Unlimited World Red delivers a unique storyline created in cooperation with the author of the comic book series. Luffy and his friends meet Pat, a talking raccoon wearing a hoodie, who asks them for help with getting to the Forbidden Island, where he has to meet with someone very important. Upon their arrival to the island, it turns out their destination is ruled by a dangerous and extremely ambitious pirate, who goes by the name Red, and has recently escaped prison. The protagonists set up a base in Trans Town – from there, they start their quest to defeat Red and many other pirates known from the comic books.
