Release Date: November 23, 2011
The third installment in one of the most brutal and controversial game series in the history, started in 1997 by Running With Scissors. The plot connects to the events from the previous installments, but this time it takes us to a completely new town of Catharsis where the Ecotologists, an eco-terrorist organization, wage a war with the local police. The player can either side and take part in two slightly different campaigns.
Postal III for PC and X360 is another instalment of one of the most gory and brutal productions in the game industry. The project from Running With Scissors is, as usual, filled to capacity with elements that give rise to controversy not only among players themselves, but also politicians fighting violence and other social organisations.
Just like in former parts of the series, the plot focuses on adventures of the Postal Dude – a frustrated guy who cannot find a full-time job. You assume his role in the single player campaign.
The main plot branch in Postal III links to the events from Apocalypse Weekend. The destruction of Paradise City forced the main hero to settle somewhere else. The Postal Dude heads North and ends up in a town called Catharsis.
In the single player campaign you can pick one of two paths and either Ecotologists (The Insane Path) or local police forces with fighting crime (The Good Path). Similarly to the previous instalments, you do not have to limit yourself to just completing quests – nothing is stopping you from venting the Dude’s anger on ers-by. If you do that after ing the police, you can count on facing a sack. Some missions feature bosses. There are a few training missions that introduce you to the basic gameplay elements.
Unlike the former instalments in which you saw the world through the hero’s eyes, Postal III published on PC and X360 presents the action from the third-person perspective. During gameplay, the Dude meets a wide array of both fictional and real characters – e.g. Uwe Boll and Ron Jeremy. The game features a few unusual weapons - the most controversial one is a combination of a chainsaw and a… badger. The developesr assumed that this tool will shock even more than the combination of a shotgun and a cat seen in Postal 2. Apart from this, you can count on help from a dog, or a monkey. There are also a bit less exotic weapons, like a machete, a shovel, a machine gun, and grenades.
Postal III released on PC and X360 is powered by Source engine, used in e.g. Half-Life 2. The engine underwent a number of changes – visuals are significantly different from those we saw playing as Gordon Freeman.

There are so many sequels nowadays that it's hard for each of them to be great. Sometimes one weak production can seriously damage the hard-earned image of a cult IP. Here's a list of bad games from excellent series.
The negative attitude of game developers towards computer piracy is quite expected. However, the creators of the Postal series surprised the fans with a rather unusual view of the issue.
