A futuristic racing game created by an independent studio 34BigThings. The action of the game takes place in 2560, when humanity depleted all natural resources on Earth. Then, they moved on to other planets, with Earth becoming a location for various spectacles, including the Solar Redout Racing League – our character's bread and butter.
Redout for is a racing game, inspired by such titles like WipeOut series. The said title has been released, among others, for PS4, PC and etc.. An independent studio 34BigThings is responsible for the development of the game.
The action of Redout takes place in 2560, when humanity has depleted all natural resources present on Earth. Most of humanity has moved to Moon, Mars, and Jupiter’s moons, with the home planet being a place for various spectacles. One of the most popular of such events is so called Solar Redout Racing League – the best racers from all the known worlds are fighting for victory, participating in anti-gravity hovercraft races.
In Redout for PS4, PC and etc. the players take part in spectacular races with their pace often exceeding 800 km per hour. A number of vehicles have been left at our disposal, different not only in of outside looks, but also performance. Certain vehicles are better on long, straight tracks, while other hovercrafts are perfect for switchbacks. Twenty race tracks have been placed in four different environments, such as picturesque coast, seemingly endless desert, or polar zones. The races appear in seven variants: from classic championships, where the position at the finish line is the most important, up to last-man-standing mode, based on the competitors’ score. Regardless of the chosen mode, the tracks are filled with various power-ups that the players can use. We are talking about shields, repair drones, turbocharges, or handling enhancers.
Similarly to the other games of this genre, the key to success lies not only in a thorough knowledge of tracks and placement of power-ups, but also in mastering the driving model. The latter was based on an advanced physics system that includes the intricacies of steering a quadrocopter which results in taking turns, braking and speeding that affects the vehicle with adequate force.
The centrepiece of Redout for PS4, PC and etc. is a singleplayer career mode, including over 75 championships. During the gameplay, we acquire new experience levels – as a result, we can improve the performance of our machine. Aside from that, there is a multiplayer mode for rivalry-oriented players that can accommodate up to 12 players.
Redout uses the Unreal Engine 4 technology, which provides high-quality visuals. Not only vehicles are eye-catching, but also individual tracks and post-apocalyptic surroundings are definitely a highlight. The game incorporates an original, electronic soundtrack, constantly accompanying our struggles. The title employs virtual reality goggles, but they are not obligatory.

Game Ratings for Redout Video Game.
GameSpew: 8 / 10 by Olivia Falk
Redout is one of the most delightfully high-octane, edge-of-my-seat racing games in recent memory. It's a thrilling adrenaline rush of an experience. It's a finely-tuned joyride that's been polished and balanced until it shines in a cornucopia of flashy colours.
Wccftech: 8.5 / 10 by Jorge Jimenez
Redout is a great modern revival of a racing genre we had lost somewhere along the way. Die-hard racers who prefer high-speeds and death-defying jumps will for sure want to check this one out.
TheSixthAxis: 8 / 10 by Jake Durasamy
Redout is an ambitious attempt to recapture the glory of futuristic racing games, while paying homage to WipEout. The game's controls and responsiveness have been fine-tuned to make the hardest of tracks very interesting and engaging to race across at supersonic speeds. Redout is an example of a game that's given and old formula another coat of paint, but it could also mean the beginning of another futuristic racer franchise, in the absence of a true contemporary from Sony.
