The ninth mainline entry of the Resident Evil series, started in 1996. According to the rumors, Resident Evil 9 should offer an open world for the first time. It would be made possible thanks to the RE Engine, also used in Monster Hunter and Dragon's Dogma II.
Resident Evil 9 (hypothetical title) is the ninth main installment in the best-selling survival horror series, launched in 1997. The company Capcom, which oversees the series, is responsible for the development and release of this game.
Resident Evil 9 does not have an official release date set yet. According to rumors, the production is scheduled to debut in 2025.
Given the fact that the latest add-on to Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, we can expect that in the ninth part of the series, Capcom will either introduce us to a new character (or characters), or allow us to play as one of the heroes (or heroines) from the older installments of the series.
