Tactical RPG in which our task is to start a revolution in steampunk empire. Exploring the world of Revolution: The Spark and performing tasks, we make decisions that affect the course of the story, the fate of the hero and the future of the country.
Revolution: The Spark is a tactical RPG. It was developed by indie studios Darts Games and Hamsters Gaming and published by V Publishing.
Revolution: The Spark takes us on a journey to steampunk universe. In an empire that rules the world, corrupt political elites reign with a firm hand. The hero of the game is a war veteran named Alex. When his family gets involved in politics and his brother is arrested for attempted coup, Alex has no choice but to take matters into his own hands and start the eponymous revolution. Along the way, Alex becomes involved in an intrigue of an even greater caliber, as mysterious supernatural beings guide the actions of those holding the highest office in the country...
During the game we make numerous decisions that affect not only the further fate of Alex, but also how the coup he planned will end, and thus - how the fate of the entire empire will turn out. The story can end in one of five ways.
In Revolution: The Spark we observe the action from an isometric view. There are 9 locations to visit, among which we can find vast mines, where the miners work in tragic conditions, or even the district of luxurious villas belonging to the richest. Exploring them, we talk and get to know the characters living there, as well as complete various tasks pushing the plot forward and perform numerous side missions. Along the way we make choices, and although there are many of the latter, the consequences of which we feel immediately, often the effects of our decisions are known only later in the game. What's interesting, in our quest to overthrow the empress and her entourage, we sometimes have to negotiate with our opponents, often forming seemingly uncomfortable alliances.
We also meet characters who decide to us. Our companions represent different classes and have unique skills, which are useful mainly on the battlefield. Battles are turn-based, and take place on the arenas covered by a square grid, and during the battles we have to use the abilities of each team member. It's worth ing that the revolutionaries who fall on the battlefield are excluded from the adventure for some time. As we progress, we develop our team and equip them with increasingly better equipment.
The comic-book graphics of Revolution: The Spark is in a raw style.
