Rogue Trooper Redux for PC, XONE and etc. is a refreshed version of a shooter game that was released in 2006. Similar to the original edition, the game was developed by Rebellion – a studio popular mainly for the Aliens vs Predator series. Rogue Trooper Redux was created in cooperation with a British team known as TickTock Games, and the game is based on comic books from the 2000 A.D. series.
The player is taken to Nu Earth – a planet that is currently in the throes of war. The titular character is one of the elite, genetically-modified soldiers created in order to ultimately solve the problem embodied by the hostile armies of Nort Republic. The action begins after the protagonist's squad is deployed to the strategically important Quartz Zone. The protagonist is betrayed there and he becomes the only member of the squad that survives an ambush. From thence on, the protagonist's goal is to take his revenge on the perpetraitors.
Rogue Trooper Redux for PC, XONE and etc. is played from a third-person view. The missions the player participates in take place in diverse sceneries, and those are based mainly on fast-paced and spectacular action. The missions placed in front of the player require them to eliminate adversaries. Apart from regular enemies embodied by modified soldiers, from time to time, the protagonist has to face enemy vehicles and drones. Fortunately however, Rogue Trooper is not unarmed – the player makes use of extensive weaponry, which comprises pistols, machine guns, sniper rifles, and even rocket launchers. Elements of stealth-action were also implemented here – a lot of the times, it is wiser to avoid and remain hidden – this however, requires both patience and the ablity to develop an adequate strategy.
Interestingly, the player-controlled character is a one-man team in a way, as throughout the game, he collects decrypted biochips containing personalities of the murdered squad-. These biochips can be synchronized with a rifle, a helmet, and a backpack, in order to use the information installed on them to analyze the situation on the battlefield, hack into security systems, or to hear some tips. One also needs to about gathering useful resources.
Compared to the original edition, Rogue Trooper Redux for PC, XONE and etc. brings mainly improved visuals. It is worth noticing, that this is not the first remastered version of Rogue Trooper, as in 2009, Rogue Trooper: The Quartz Zone Massacre came out for Nintendo Wii – above all, it offered a new controls model, which utilized a motion controller.

Game Ratings for Rogue Trooper Redux Video Game.
God is a Geek: 7 / 10 by Gary Bailey
Despite some fun shooting, Rogue Trooper Redux plays almost identically to the original, which unfortunately hasn't aged too well.
Wccftech: 7 / 10 by Dave Aubrey
Rogue Trooper Redux won't be for everyone, but old fans wishing to revisit a favorite and new players interested in the tale of a classic franchise will still have fun here. Some aged mechanics and a handful of minor bugs in animations and camera control can hamper the experience, but for the most part, Rogue Trooper Redux is a fascinating game to revisit.
Attack of the Fanboy: 2.5 / 5 by Lewis White
Rebellion's remaster won't last you long, but for a few hours of nostalgia for a sixth-generation shooter it might be worth a shot.
