Shadows of the Damned: Remastered is a remastered version of a creative shooter with horror elements from 2011. It was developed by the same studio as the original game, Grasshopper Manufacture.
Shadows of the Damned: Remastered stars Garcia Hotspur, a motorcyclist and professional demon hunter. When he learns the ruler of hell - Fleming - has kidnapped his beloved, he embarks on a private crusade and delves deep into the underground. Fortunately he's not alone, as he's ed by a talking (and helpful) skull named Johnson and other allies met along the way.
Shadows of the Damned: Remastered is a third-person game (TPP). The game is set in numerous diverse, atmospheric locations full of enemies. In aside to numerous regular foes we'll also face much more powerful bosses. Our primary weapon is Johnson, able to transform into a torch (used in melee combat) or firearms - pistols, shotguns and machine guns. The game has no regenerating health; to heal, we must drink alcohol. As we progress through the game we develop Garcia and Johnson, increasing their combat potential.
Apart from fighting enemies we must also frequently solve environmental puzzles. Puzzles task you with dispelling darkness, which drains Garcia's health and makes his foes invulnerable. To get rid of it, we must usually fire light at the nearby goat head or get rid of the demon generating it.
There are also occasional action platforming minigames.
Shadows of the Damned: Remastered stands out from the original game with its enhanced visuals.

Game Ratings for Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered Video Game.
Gamer Escape: 7 / 10 by Aaron Botts
Really, Hella Remastered is probably the best example of a video game that knows that it’s a video game and runs with it to the point where it almost falls off a cliff. The involvement and expertise of Mikami and Suda prevents it from careening towards the ground, but it’s still a solid game at the end of the day. The gameplay has aged surprisingly well, and the visuals have finally outgrown the limitations of its seventh generation console bretheren. Just be sure to leave any high brow notions at the door and enjoy the ride.
TechRaptor: 7 / 10 by Joe Allen
Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it offers a new glimpse at a fascinating relic of the seventh console generation.
Noisy Pixel: 7 / 10 by Azario Lopez
Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered brings Suda51’s cult classic to new life with enhanced visuals, a darkly humorous narrative, and intense demon-slaying action. The remaster preserves the original’s unique style while adding some welcome refinements. Although the combat can be repetitive, the game’s atmospheric puzzles, challenging boss encounters, and compelling underworld setting make for an unforgettable journey through hell. Garcia Hotspur’s quest to rescue his girlfriend, Paula, pushes both him and players to their limits, and the result is a devilishly entertaining experience that fans of the genre will appreciate.
