A car shooter designed for multiplayer fun. In ShockRods players sit at the helm of futuristic vehicles and clash in a variety of arenas, in one of several variants of the game. The title was developed by Stainless Games studio, whose fame was brought by the Carmageddon series.
ShockRods is a shooter in which the players flight to the death, controlling fancy futuristic vehicles. The game was developed by Stainless Games, known from Carmageddon series.
In ShockRods we observe the action in TPP view. The game consists of battles during which we sit at the controls of the title machines. Among the arenas we will find both desert or densely forested areas, as well as specially designed facilities.
ShockRods can not only ride and reach dizzying speeds (boosters are installed) but also jump. In addition, we can equip them with a varied arsenal of firearms, acquired in the form of power-ups, the latter including a machine gun, grenade launcher, and rocket launcher, as well as more imaginative tools for murder, such as a freezing cannon.
As we progress, we earn money that we can spend on the purchase of various cosmetic elements for our four wheels. Nothing stands in the way of changing the color of the car body, choosing other rims, or decorating the body with stickers. The devs also enabled us to modify the sounds made by vehicles and choose from a wide range of taunts.
Despite the fact that ShockRods can be played solo, the title spreads its wings in multiplayer, where we can play with up to twelve other players. Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture The Flag (in the latter, two teams are facing each other) are waiting to be tested; in addition, the devs have prepared a special variant of the game baptized as Ball Mode, modeled on football.
Three-dimensional visuals of ShockRods presents a decent quality. The whole thing was kept in colorful colors and sprinkled with eye-catching special effects.
