Skellboy is an action RPG developed by a small, independent Umaiki Games studio. In comparison to other representatives of the genre, the production stands out thanks to its original graphic design and gameplay mechanics allowing the player to use body parts of the defeated enemies.

Plot

Skellboy takes us to the fantastical Cubold Kingdom, whose inhabitants enjoy life in peace and prosperity. The situation changed dramatically when the princess rejected the courtship of the court mage. In an act of vengeance, the wizard decided to resurrect the dead, as well as all the monsters slaughtered by fearless heroes. Unfortunately for the mage, Skippy, the legendary hero (or rather his skeleton), has also been brought to life. He is the only one who can deal with the threat and restore the peace to the land.

Mechanics

The action in Skellboy is observed from top-down view. While exploring various locations like the castle, picturesque countryside, and gloomy dungeons, we face hordes of enemies. Among them, we can find both powerful monsters acting as bosses and "cannon fodder".

We eliminate enemies by using five types of melee weapons and can attach their body parts to our hero - this is important because each of them provides him with a variety of bonuses.

Technical aspects

Although Skellboy's graphics are three-dimensional, its individual elements are flat to imitate 2D. The retro style is complemented by a chiptune soundtrack.
