Game mechanics

Steel Division 2: Tribute to the Liberation of Italy makes no major changes to the mechanics. Thus, we are still dealing with a production in which we manage our forces and set tactics in turn-based mode, with clashes taking place in real time. Instead, the authors focused on enriching their work with completely new content. We're talking about 8 previously unavailable divisions and more than 300 different units (from infantry to 22 vehicles and 4 aircraft), as well as 4 new countries, namely the Union of South Africa (today's South Africa), Brazil and the competing Italian Social Republic and the Kingdom of Italy.

As for the new divisions - on the Axis side, the veteran mountain troops of the 5th Gebirgsjäger (Alpine Riflemen), the Italian-German 4th Fallschirmjäger, the German 26th Armored Division and the Italian 4a Divisione Alpini "Monterosa" are fighting. On the Allied side, in turn, appear: 6th South African Armored Division, Italian Corpo Italiano di Liberazione, mountain troops of the 8th Indian Infantry Division and Task Force 45. The long list of new vehicles includes, among others, the Italian P-26/40 tank or the AS.42 heavy reconnaissance jeep, German 88mm FAMOs, the Indian ACV-IP Mk.2 armored personnel carrier, the C.202 Series VIII Folgore, G.55 Series I Centauro and Re.2002 Ariete fighters, and the Z.1007bis Series VI Alcione bomber. New infantry units, including the Indian Sikhs and Gurkhas, round out the list of novelties.

Game modes

Steel Division 2: Tribute to the Liberation of Italy can be played solo or in multiplayer mode over the Internet (competing or cooperating with other players).

Technical aspects

Steel Division 2: Tribute to the Liberation of Italy is not a standalone expansion, so it requires the basic version of Steel Division 2 game to work.
