Release Date: July 16, 2019
A funny auto-runner racing game. During the game we get to know the fate of a young girl who sets off from a cold land to warm countries to finally survive the summer.
Summer Catchers is a two-dimensional racing game with elements of adventure prepared by a small FaceIT studio. The publisher is Noodlecake Studios, known for its various titles released mainly on mobile devices.
The game tells about the adventures of a young girl from the far, cold north. One day she realized that she had never experienced a warm summer in her life, she had never seen the ocean or real albatrosses. She decided to change it and set off on a journey.
Summer Catchers is a so-called auto-runner. This is a specific type of game, very similar to endless runners. In this case, the client drives forwards by himself, and our task is to ensure that the client drives safely, using a variety of temporary pieces of equipment. We buy them in a special shop for money earned while having fun. During the ride gadgets are displayed on the side of the screen, from where we choose them at appropriate moments, e.g. using a bumper is useful just before entering an obstacle, and the afterburner will accelerate the vehicle on the straight road.
The levels are generated randomly, so we never know what will happen to us during the journey. Time to time we have been divided into several thematic locations, to which we get access, among other things by performing tasks for the characters we meet.
Summer Catchers has an atmospheric visuals created on the Unity engine. In addition, the developers took care of the atmospheric soundtrack.

Summer Catchers is visually stunning, but it is let down by its central mechanic and is too arduous to warrant playing.
Rectify Gaming: 8 / 10 by Christian Bianchi
A road trip endless runner with charming atmosphere, music, and characters that only misses out on a higher score due to some repetitive gameplay and lack of replayability.
