A two-dimensional fight between characters from Capcomu games and anime Tatsunoko Production films. Two-person teams take part in spectacular fights.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is a classic two-dimensional fight, presenting the dynamic clashes of two-person teams. Initially, the production made its debut only on slot machines, and its preparation is the responsibility of people who in the past worked, among others, on the Bloody Roar series.
This game exploits the often used motif of putting teams representing different brands of products in front of each other. In this case we are talking about characters known from Capcomu games and anime films by the Japanese company Tatsunoko Production. The Capcomu team includes warriors from the series such as Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, Mega Man, Onimusha, Lost Planet and Rival Schools. Tatsunoko's protagonists are personalities known from anime such as Gatchaman or Neon Genesis Evangelion. In total, there are more than twenty different heroes to choose from, including a few new ones who did not appear in the slot machine version.
The range of play modes available is very substantial and includes such items as Arcade, Versus (one-on-one combat), Time Attack (racing against time), Training (improving the skills of the character of your choice) and Survival (fighting for survival with a single health bar). In addition, the program includes a dozen or so simple arcade mini-games, connected with specific warriors. The producer has also prepared a lot of bonus materials for eateries of the genre. These include remixes of famous music pieces, hidden characters or unique costumes of warriors.
The combat system involves commanding two characters, between which you can switch as much as you like. Available attacks come in three different versions (weak, normal and strong). The key to success is to combine them into more complex combinations of blows and derive special strokes of each warrior. In addition, it is also possible to use so-called combined attacks in which two team characters take part, dealing more serious damage to the opponent.
The Tatsunoko vs. Capcom visuals place this product at the forefront of two-dimensional battles, offering smooth animation of character movement, spectacular flashes at the stroke and carefully designed backgrounds.
