The Game Paradise: CruisinMix, released on PS4 and PC, is a remaster of another game called The Game Paradise (also known as Game Tengoku) released on arcade in 1995 and, two years later, also released on Sega Saturn console.
Plot
Yamada, who claims to be a very intelligent person, decided to take over a world of video games. His first step was to take over You&Me Kamiyoga arcade in Tokyo. Luckily, its employee, Yui Ito, decided to oppose Yamada; she hacked the arcade machines and called all characters from those games to face Yamada.
Mechanics
The Game Paradise: CruisinMix is a parody of shoot 'em up games, an arcade shooting games where action is seen from a top-down perspective such as in, e.g. a famous series called Ikaruga. The gameplay is about shooting numerous enemies on various and diverse levels. The campaign is divided into eight stages – Arcade World with arcade machines, Crane World with mascots, Shoot 'em Up World inspired by classic shoot 'em ups, Karaoke World that resembles a karaoke room, Console World made in a style resembling RPG games, Racing World ruled by races, Retro World with 8-bit consoles and Polygon World where polygons are the main theme.
Besides that The Game Paradise: CruisinMix offers a few new elements. The main attractions are the new characters – Clarice (True), Car and Clarice (Bomber). In addition to that we can also play in Arcade Mode+, which allows us to play on a vertical screen; there are also online rankings.
Game modes
The game's main mode is the campaign during which we try to get the best score. The developers also made a Time Attack Mode during which we try to get the biggest amount of points in a certain amount of time.
Technical aspects
The Game Paradise: CruisinMix's graphics aren't that different from the original game, although everything is now displayed in a higher resolution. Also, the game features the same Japanese voice cast, among which we can find Kumiko Nishihara as Yuki Ito or Shigeru Chiba as Yamada.
