The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is a first-person shooter based on a popular TV show known by the same title. The game was developed by Terminal Reality Studio, also known as the creators of Bloodrayne series.

The game is based on a TV show created by AMC station, which in turn is an adaptation of a comic books by Robert Kirkman. The story takes off shortly after the outbreak of the epidemic that changes people into the bloodthirsty undead monsters. The story focuses on Dixon brothers and their journey to the city of Atlanta, which is believed to be a safe haven for survivors. Players take on the younger of the two siblings - Daryl, while the older one, Merle, is controlled by AI.

The game was developed as a survival horror. Economical use of ammunition, food, and other supplies is essential, especially that opportunities to replenish these are rare. An important aspect of gameplay are stealth elements, which allow players to avoid some fights with zombies. However, it is not easy, since living dead, while searching for prey, do not rely only on their eyes, but also on hearing and smell.
